Saba Salon is a collective of talented stylists and colourists who share the common vision of creating beautiful, wearable hair for our clients. Our team is fully committed to making sure you enjoy your entire experience at Saba Salon and that you’re always well looked after – right down to how you take your tea.
Located in the central suburb of Epsom at 144 Great South Road, Saba Salon is based on the ground floor of a late 1800s two-storey character villa. Once inside, the street noise fades away, and you’re greeted by welcoming staff, a calm atmosphere and a nice interior. In addition, the salon opens up to a lush garden courtyard with an abundance of natural light giving a wonderful outdoor perspective to help you relax.
Unusually for this industry, Brandon acquired a degree in industrial engineering and worked as a business analyst before he decided to explore his creative side and become a stylist. This balance of analysis and creativity has provided him with a unique approach to hairdressing allowing him to create not only beautiful, but functional hairstyles for his clients. After working at one of Auckland’s top salons for almost 12 years, Brandon opened Saba Salon to bring the hairdressing experience back to being more about the customer, as opposed to the commercial and artistic motivations of the industry. When not striving to create perfect hair, he can be found immersing himself in nature via his surfboard and motorcycle. He also has a penchant for making terrible dad jokes.
After gaining her stripes as a stylist at Servilles in Newmarket back in the early 2000s, Lisa subsequently moved on to work at top salons in Sydney and London over a period of 7 years. A self-professed obsessive compulsive, she can cut, colour and sculpt hair to perfection with effortless poise. Undeniably modest and humble, she is truly the definition of an artisan and master hairdresser. In her spare time she can be found straightening crooked picture frames and indulging her culinary ambitions preparing Italian and Asian masterpieces.
Jess is one of the brightest talents in the hair and fashion industry and has built up an impressive portfolio of work over the years. Her hair styling has featured in photo shoots online and in magazines such as Black, Remix, Fashion Journal and Italian Vogue. She has also been a member of the KMS Creative Team doing hair for designer collections at NZ Fashion Week. With a vision for on-trend fashion, ability to create seamless and beautiful colour work, and a natural intuition for what works best for her clients’ hair, you will truly be in expert hands. Did I mention she is also lovely!! In her spare time Jess can be found talking a lot, hanging with her fur babies Ollie, Teddy and Mistletoe, and cutting shapes on the D-floor to electronic dance music.
Quita, otherwise known as the 'Little One' or 'Magic Fingers', is the newest talent to join the Saba Salon team. Clearly an over-achiever, she was former head girl at Western Springs College, a proud mum by 20, and graduated Student of the Year from Cut Above Academy of Hairdressing. With perfectionist tendencies, smarts and a sweet and humble nature, Quita is an amazing asset to the Saba team. If you are lucky enough to receive a head massage from 'Magic Fingers', you will be hers for life. You've been warned.
